Terms and Conditions
Effective date: 1 November 2026. JW TV. All rights reserved.
This document is in two parts. Part A sets out the Terms and Conditions that govern participation in the Challenge. Part B is the Privacy Notice, which explains how personal data is collected and used. Both parts form a single agreement between you and JW TV.
1. About these Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern registration for, and participation in, the Yalla India Creator Challenge 2026 ("Challenge"). By registering, submitting an entry or otherwise taking part, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Notice in Part B, and the Challenge Brief and dashboard instructions (together, the "Rules").
If these Terms conflict with the Challenge Brief or dashboard instructions, these Terms prevail on legal, payment and privacy matters. The dashboard instructions prevail on stage-specific details, such as themes and deadlines.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not register or take part.
2. The Organiser
The Challenge is organised by JW TV ("we", "us", "our"). We are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described in Part B.
No other person or entity organises or endorses the Challenge.
3. Eligibility
To take part, you must:
- (a) be 18 years of age or older on the date you register;
- (b) be resident in India; and
- (c) operate a public account on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook or X that you own or are authorised to use.
Our employees and contractors, and members of the jury and review team, may not take part.
Registration does not guarantee approval of an entry, a reward, selection for a later stage, a prize, or an invitation to any creator network.
4. Registration
You must give accurate and complete information when you register and keep it up to date.
Each person may register only once. You may submit entries only from accounts you personally own or are authorised to operate.
On registration you will receive a Creator ID. You must keep your dashboard login details confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
We may ask for reasonable evidence of your identity, age, residency or account ownership, the originality of your entry, or your entitlement to a reward or prize. If you do not provide it by the deadline we give you, we may treat you as ineligible.
5. How the Challenge works
The Challenge runs over approximately 90 days, in four stages:
- (a) Open Creator Challenge, from which the top 180 creators advance;
- (b) Creator League, from which the top 45 advance;
- (c) a 72-hour National Semi-Final, from which the top 18 advance; and
- (d) the National Finale.
Dates, themes and stage mechanics are published on the dashboard.
Entries in competitive stages are scored as follows:
| Criterion | Weight |
|---|---|
| Originality and Creativity | 30% |
| Research and Factual Accuracy | 25% |
| Storytelling | 20% |
| Audience Impact | 15% |
| Production and Presentation | 10% |
Audience metrics may inform the Audience Impact score. Follower count or reach alone does not determine advancement.
Entries are assessed by a jury and an authorised review team. Tie-break rules, any minimum qualifying score and the appeal procedure are published on the dashboard before the stage to which they apply. No unpublished threshold or formula will be applied.
Members of the jury and review team must declare any personal or professional connection to a creator, and must not assess that creator's entries.
Judging decisions are made in good faith against the published criteria. Subject to clause 8 and the published appeal procedure, they are final.
6. Entry requirements
Each entry must:
- (a) be your original work and respond to the current theme;
- (b) be between 45 seconds and 2 minutes long; and
- (c) be uploaded to the dashboard within 7 days of your registration for the Open Creator Challenge, or by the published deadline for later stages.
Once your entry is approved, you must:
- (a) publish it on your public account with the hashtags #YallaIndia, #YallaIndiaCreator and #YallaIndiaCreatorChallenge, together with any Creator ID or language tag the dashboard requires;
- (b) disclose your connection to the Challenge using the platform's paid-partnership label or a clear disclosure such as "#Collab", in line with the Advertising Standards Council of India's Guidelines for Influencer Advertising in Digital Media; and
- (c) keep the entry publicly available on your account for at least 30 days after publication.
You must clearly label any material in your entry that is generated or substantially altered by artificial intelligence.
You must give credible sources for material factual claims in your entry, and provide them on request.
You must obtain permission from any identifiable person who appears in your entry, and from the owner of any third-party footage, photograph, music, artwork or other protected material you use.
7. Content standards and prohibited conduct
You must not:
- (a) fabricate quotations, sources, statistics, interviews or evidence;
- (b) present manipulated or AI-generated depictions of real events or people as authentic;
- (c) plagiarise, impersonate any person, or use a deceptive deepfake;
- (d) post hate speech, incitement, targeted harassment, or content that discriminates on the basis of religion, caste, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic;
- (e) buy followers, views or likes, use bots, or take part in coordinated artificial engagement;
- (f) infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other third-party right, or publish defamatory material; or
- (g) breach any applicable law or the rules of the platform on which you publish.
You must not state or imply that you represent, speak for or are endorsed by us or any government, diplomatic mission or other body, unless we have authorised it in writing.
8. Review, verification and disqualification
Every entry is reviewed manually before approval. We may:
- (a) approve an entry;
- (b) request changes to it; or
- (c) reject an entry that does not meet clauses 6 or 7.
We may check source material, original files, permission records and analytics. We may also investigate credible complaints and correct clerical or scoring errors.
We may reject or remove an entry, withhold or recover a reward or prize, suspend your participation, or disqualify you, if you:
- (a) materially misrepresent any information;
- (b) are ineligible;
- (c) breach clauses 6, 7 or 11; or
- (d) engage in other serious misconduct.
Any action under clause 8.3 will be proportionate and recorded. We will tell you the reason and how to raise a grievance under clause 20.
9. Rewards and prizes
Total pool. The Challenge has a total reward and prize pool of ₹21,00,000. Its allocation between entry rewards and stage prizes is set out in the Challenge Brief.
Entry rewards. Each creator may earn a reward for one entry only. An entry earns a reward only when all three of the following are met:
- (a) it has been approved under clause 8.1;
- (b) it has been published in accordance with clause 6.2; and
- (c) it has stayed live for 30 days.
Reward levels are:
| Tier | Places | Reward per creator |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | up to 1,200 | ₹100 |
| Tier 2 | up to 200 | ₹2,000 |
| Tier 3 | up to 50 | ₹5,000 |
Your tier is set by your follower count at registration, against the thresholds published on the dashboard. Places in each tier are filled in order of verified publication.
For Tier 2 and Tier 3, 80% of the reward is fixed. The remaining 20% is paid from a performance pool, distributed under the formula published on the dashboard. That formula uses views, engagement and reach measured 7 days after publication.
Stage prizes. Prize categories, amounts and selection methods for the competitive stages are set out in the Challenge Brief.
Payment. All rewards and prizes are paid in a single payment run, by bank transfer or UPI, within 30 days after the Challenge closes. Before payment you may be asked to provide your PAN, bank or UPI details and identity confirmation through a secure channel. Tax will be deducted at source where the law requires it.
Rewards and prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged.
Travel, accommodation, insurance and other expenses are your responsibility unless we confirm otherwise in writing.
10. Your relationship with us
You take part as an independent creator. Nothing in these Terms, and no reward or prize, creates an employment, agency, partnership or joint venture relationship between you and us.
You are responsible for your own taxes on any amount you receive, except tax we deduct at source.
Participation is not exclusive. You remain free to work with other brands and organisations.
11. Events
Creators selected for the National Semi-Final or Finale may be invited to in-person events. Attendance is voluntary unless the Challenge Brief states that it is required to compete in that stage.
At events you must:
- (a) follow the instructions of our staff and the rules of the venue;
- (b) behave respectfully towards other participants, staff and guests; and
- (c) not attend under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
We may remove anyone from an event for misconduct, and may treat serious misconduct as grounds for disqualification under clause 8.3.
Events may be photographed and filmed. Where we intend to use footage in which you can be identified for purposes beyond those in clause 13.1, we will ask for your consent first.
You are responsible for your own belongings and personal travel arrangements unless we confirm otherwise in writing.
12. Ownership and licence
You keep ownership of the intellectual property you hold in your entry.
By submitting an entry, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, for the duration of the rights in it, to do the following with your entry and its caption: repost, display, communicate to the public, archive, translate, subtitle, excerpt, resize, format and make accessibility edits to them. The licence covers the purposes of administering, documenting, reporting on and promoting the Challenge. It includes use on the Yalla India Creator Challenge page, JW TV's pages and websites, presentations, reports, press materials and event screens.
Reposting is at our discretion. Approval of an entry does not mean it will be reposted.
We will credit you and link to your public profile where reasonably practicable. Edits will not materially misrepresent your meaning.
You confirm that you hold all rights and permissions needed to grant this licence. This includes permissions from co-creators, interviewees and the owners of any music or footage you use.
If you withdraw under clause 16, we will stop using your entry in new placements within 30 days of receiving your request. We are not required to remove material already distributed, archived for legal purposes, or reposted by third parties outside our control.
13. Publicity
Taking part in the Challenge includes publication of the following for finalists and winners: display name, public handle, entry, language, category and award.
Any use of your name, image, voice or testimonial in an endorsement, paid advertisement or activity unrelated to the Challenge requires your separate written consent.
14. Communications
We will send you service messages by email that are needed to run the Challenge. These include:
- (a) confirmation of registration;
- (b) reminders if your entry is pending;
- (c) confirmation of upload and review; and
- (d) results, reward and prize notifications.
If you opt in at registration, we will also send these messages by WhatsApp. You may opt out of WhatsApp messages at any time by replying STOP. You will continue to receive service emails.
We will send newsletters or other marketing only with your separate, optional consent. You may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting your participation.
15. Personal data
Our handling of your personal data is described in the Privacy Notice in Part B, which forms part of these Terms.
16. Withdrawal
You may withdraw at any time by writing to yalla@jerusalemwallah.com. Withdrawal ends your eligibility for further judging, rewards and prizes, except for rewards already earned under clause 9.2. We may keep records as described in Part B.
17. Changes, suspension and cancellation
We may amend the schedule or the Rules, or suspend or cancel a stage, where reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, technical disruption, events beyond our reasonable control, or fair administration.
Material changes will be published on the dashboard with their effective date. They will not apply retrospectively to completed scoring or to rewards and prizes already earned, except to correct fraud or a material error.
18. Liability and indemnity
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the dashboard, or any particular reach, selection, advancement, reward or prize.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from:
- (a) platform outages or algorithm changes;
- (b) restrictions imposed on your account by a third party;
- (c) inaccurate analytics supplied by a platform; or
- (d) your failure to follow the submission instructions.
You will indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your breach of clauses 6, 7 or 12.5.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.
19. Rights reserved
All rights in the Challenge name, branding, logos, design assets, Creator Kit, prompts, templates and other materials we create are reserved, except for rights expressly granted in these Terms.
We do not claim ownership of your original work. Our rights in it are limited to the licence in clause 12.
Third-party names, marks and materials remain the property of their owners. Their appearance in an entry does not imply endorsement.
20. Grievances
Questions, complaints and grievances may be sent to the Grievance Officer at yalla@jerusalemwallah.com. We will acknowledge a grievance within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
21. General
Electronic acceptance. These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000. Your acceptance at registration is binding without a physical signature.
Language. If these Terms are published in more than one language, the English version prevails.
Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
Entire agreement. The Rules form the entire agreement between you and us about the Challenge.
Governing law and jurisdiction. These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any mandatory rights you have under data protection law, the courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction.
